IBM's inability to capitalize on HRO
Well, maybe tier inability to capitalize on IT services and BPO in general seem to have tripped up the entire stock market, and especially the U.S. market. IBM has been moving towards services over data center management for some time now. Word on the street is that morale in the traditional lines of business is incredibly low, and competitors are eating away at their market share. At the same time, growth of the services business has not taken off as expected and profit margins are also lower than expected. People look to IBM to execute, and thus fat they have not been able to reinvent themselves. Keep a close eye on them as they are indicative of other tier 1 BPO players.
