Terminating employees has never gotten too much press aside from COBRA, HIPAA, getting your property back and exit interviews. However, just as there are technology requirements for a seamless on-boarding process, many of these must be reversed during terminations.
Critically, employee access to buildings and access to systems must be turned off immediately. For these 2 elements, IT needs to know by the time the termination happens or very very soon after.
